Bacon state engineer engineer engi engi- neer and a prominent leader In educational educational edu edu- and social work In Salt Lake and Utah died suddenly Friday at p. p m. m at the home 86 B street of ot heart trouble She had visited the state school offices in the capitol capital Friday afternoon in connection with a survey surveyor of unemployment unemployment conditions in Utah having been en a member r of ot the committee She was taken ill after she returned home Mr Mrs Bacon was believed to have fully recovered from an illness she suffered last winter The Thc welfare leader was a native nathe of Bedford Mass She had engaged in kindergarten work in Bedford after aUer completing her education in a school at Boston She was a teacher when she married Mr Bacon at that time timea a a. resident of West Vest Bedford Mr and Mrs Bacon came to Salt Lake in 1901 from Colorado Springs Colo Cob where they lived In 1900 She had been active in various local organizations organizations or or- since that time Mrs Bacons Bacon's daughter Mrs Isabel Lymon Lyman La Follette is the wife of Governor Philip F. F La Follette of ot Wis Nis During the past year Mrs Bacon was chairman of the women's division of ot the state central unemployment relic relief re re- lid lic lief committee named by Governor George H. H Dern Dem and also was a member memo mem ber of the state educational relief executive committee Recently she was appointed a member of a committee committee com- com millee named by the state industrial commission to make a survey of ot Unemployment unemployment un Un- employment conditions of the state She had also received an appointment from the United States commissioner of ot education to service on a committee commit Itee tee which will make a study of school chool finances Mrs Bacon was appointed in 1917 to the women's council of ot defense for Salt Lake by Ma Maor or W W.
