Mitchell, went to Salt Lake City New Year's day, returning here Sunday. She willjeave sopn to make her home in Salt Lake city- - Miss Jenny Buchman returned Sunday evening from Rapid Riv-er, Mich., where she spent the Christmas holidays. Bryan Bird was back at work at the Standard Garage Satur-day following a vacation in Pasa-dena with Mrs. Bryan Bird of Midvale and Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Bird of Springville. They were guests most of the time of Mrs. Bryan Bird's mother, Mrs. Miles Hartman of Pasadena. Miss Mary Zdunich was hon-ored on her seventeenth birth-day at a party given at the Civic Center Saturday by Miss Elva Johnston, June Patrick and Miss Margaret Tibbie. Refreshments were served and dancing enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Nerdin and family of West Jordan, Mrs. S. T. Nerdin and daughter, Dawna Rose, visited Sunday in Ogden with Mr. and Mrs. Louis Babcock. Leonard King of the Belmont hotel joined the U.S. navy, leav-ing for San Diego Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Booth en-tertained at a family dinner on LOCALNOTES The Copperfield and Bingham Crusaders of Holy Rosary parish have resumed regular weekly meetings following the Christ-mas vacation. A swimming party to which the members of both units have been invited is plann-ed for Sunday afternoon Janu-ary 11. Soda lists of Bingham, Copperton and Copperfield went on a sleigh ride Thursday eve-ning. Twenty members of the combined sodalities enjoyed the novel entertainment. The Junior sodalities of Bingham, Copper-fiel- d and Highland Boy will re-sume meetings next week. John Dobson of Salt Lake City left Tuesday evening for San Francisco where he has been giv-en a rating of chief petty officer second class in the U.S. navy radio division. He plans to at-tend school in San Francisco be-fore he begins duty. Wilson, who will leave soon for duty in the U.S. army, was complimented at a social given Monday evening by No. 1 Firemen and their aux-iliary. Mr. Wilson planned to leave for duty January 8, but received notice Tuesday that on request of his employer, Francis J. Quinn, draft board No. 16 had deferred the call until Mr. Quinn can find someone to fill the po-sition now held by Mr. Wilson. The committee from the aux-iliary in charge of the dinner, served to 36, included Mrs. John F. O'Brien, Mrs., Eugene Jenkins, Mrs. Edith Peterson and Mrs. Irvin Stillman. A bob sled and a number of large sleighs were available to the guests. Mr. Zorn employed his motorcycle to pull the sleighs and riders up hill.
