Show BEER LICENSES G1VENJ0NCERNS The city daily garbage removal remov-al contract with Mike Zampos was renewed at the council meeting meet-ing last Friday evening at a monthly increase in pay of from $235 to $250 a month. Council-men Council-men considered increase essential essen-tial because all costs incident to the service have gone up. Applications of seven establishments estab-lishments for licenses to sell beer were approved, proprietors and places of business being listed as follows: James Korobas, Copper Gate; George Wells, John Ross of Marillyn cafe; John Feraco, Bingham cafe; Pete Pitchios of Pastime Inn; W. S. Jones, Copper King; Melchior Ghelfi, Diamond Bar; Albert Luzon, Butte club. Two bids were received by the city for police car purchase, one from Adderley and Nichols garage gar-age and another from Standard Garage. Payment of labor costs of $308 for snow removal was approved. Water Master Fay Mitchell was in charge of clearing snow from streets. City budget for 1942, covering expenditure of $48,016.86 in 1942, was finally approved. This is an increase of $369.34 over the 1941 budget. Expenditures are anticipated as: general fund, $10,105; bonds and interest, $6221.40; water department, depart-ment, $8,060; health department, $3170; public safety, $8140; fire department, $3670.36; streets and sewers, $8650. Based on a property valuation of $2,032,392 and 15 mill levy, general property taxes are expected ex-pected to bring the city treasury $30 226.50. Other expected income will be: motor vehicle fund, $1920-36; business licenses, $3000; fines and forfeitures, $2000; beer licenses, $1600; cemetery, $300; water revenue, $8000; peddler licenses, $100; dog licenses, $150; and county rentals, $720. |
