Dr. Vincent, one of tlie directors, briefly gave an historical sketch of tila Society and the oinect of its organization, stating that it was an outgrowth of the well reinemliered anJ eminently successful musical festival held 'last May. AI- that the present organization consists of 50 voices only, and that it was the earnest wish of the management to incrca-e the membership mem-bership bi four hundred. The Society So-ciety was in good couditiuu but. the nurnlwr stated was necessary to make It entirely self-supporting. "Noble Chief," from a Russian opera, was also creditably performed. The event of tho evening was the rendition of "Summer" a Welsh glee recently translated by a member mem-ber or the Society.
