Tensdale expressed j-, . pleasure at being present with tho Saints of Alpine stake. Spoke of the ' ' beauties of the gospel, and the advan- tagea and blessings of same. Empha- 6 ' sized tho necessity of every Church t ,, member being loyal to the' cause of " ' truth. Also touched upon tho foflow- ( , ing topics: Tho Law of Tithing; Tho necessity of having faith to believe in God; Tho vicarious work for the" dead; Divine authority; Divine revelation. Smith said ho felt - " a spirit of peace and happiness in this I , meeting. Said tho church of Jesus i; Christ of Latter Day Saints is the strongest religious organization on the earth. Dwelt upon the standing of tho r church, intellectually, financially, and to spiritually and spoke of tho vast amount of means and labor being expended by our. people annually for tho Salvation ; of Souls. Tho Gospel brings us physi cal advantages when wo live up to its teachings. Admonished tho Saints to !' give freely of their means for tho building up of Gods Kingdom. J' Jos. W. McMurrin felt that wo ought to be grateful for the blessings wo cn--- joy and appreciate tho precepts and K examples of our parents. Chipman gave a report of tho condition of tho Alplno Stake. ' In tithes, tho stako had Increased about 65 last year over tho proceeding one. Tho stako Prealdoncy are united and the Bishoprics aro working harmonious- ly together. The Stako High Council I had been appointed to visit tho families of each ward In tho Stako. Hoped the Saints would treat thorn kindly. Bishop John Stoker of Lehl 4th ward reported same to bo In good working order. A mixed quartccto rendered a number, num-ber, entitled, 'Sometime, Somewhere. ' ' Elder C. C. Hackot recently returned from n mission in tho Northern States made u brief report of his labors .there. Ho visited Navoo. ,lta population is now about 1300. Culllmoro of Lintlon ward mado a brlof report of his ward, showing ii marked increase of tithing, and that tho people in general are trying try-ing to do their church duties. McMurrin Bald ho had enjoyed en-joyed the reports mado during the meeting, spoke upon tho law of tithing, t advised tho saints to pay their tithing h, each month, if they aro paid monthly, -. Jos. J. Jackson Reported the Sunday schools of the Stake. There aro 10 parent'classes with 3000 parents enrolled. There aro enrolled 2G3 students and teachers, with an attendance at-tendance of 76 per cent. There nro enrolled en-rolled 2,717 students with 07 per cent of attendance for 1900. Ninety per cent of the officers and teachers keep tho word of wisdom and about tho samo per cent of them pay tithing. Felt that much good Is Resulting from the work dono in the parent classes of the Sabbath schools, Urged parents to support these clases in all tho wards of the Stake, and to assist in getting all children of the Stako into tho Sunday schools. Supt George N. Child reported tho work being done in tho Y. M. M. I. A. There arc 13 of theso associations In the Stake, most of them in fair running run-ning order. Tho stako officers are u-nltcd u-nltcd as well as tho 100 ward officers throughout tho stake. Many young men are not yet identified with the associations. as-sociations. The stake hna improved on Era Subscriptions, but is not yet up td tho standard desired. Advised all a to read the Era and be benefited by 4ts first class articles. Tho Y. M. M. I. A. fund is thus far better than heretofore. The percentage of attendance has been about 70 per cent of tho permanent enrollment en-rollment thus far this year. The Chior sang tho hymn on pago 103. Pros. Rebecca Standrlng reported 13 Relief Societies in tho stake, with about 800 members. They aro doing excellent work. Officers aro united and doing much good among tho poor and the sick. Submitted n financial report, showing tho Society to bo prosperous in tills regard. Pres. Mary E. Whitby reported 13 Primary associations in the Stake. Thcro is a good corps of local officers. Primary work is moro systematic now than before. Urged parents to support sup-port tho Primaries. Tho Stake Board consists of 11 members, who arc united nnd meet monthly to plan there work. In 1906 three officer's conferences and one convention wcro held. A Primary conference was held in each ward of tho stako during the year. An Organ solo was rendered by Lulu Dorton. Jos. W. McMurrin said ho had enjoyed enjoy-ed hearing tho reports read. Commented Commen-ted on the significance and greatness of the holy priesthood, and showed that we should give ourfirst .alleglaiice to our quorum meetings. Apostlo George Teasdale spoko briefly brief-ly on tho valuo of intelligence. Emphasized Em-phasized tho necessity of parents living liv-ing tho gospel as an example a to their children. Choir sang tho hymn on pago 189 Benediction by Albert Marsh. Tho 4th session convened at 2 p. m. Meeting opened by tho choir singing an anthem. Prayor wns offered by patriarch Henry Moyle. Supt. Edward Southwlck of tho Religion Re-ligion class reported briefly tho labors of that organization. The workcrB therein generally are energetic. Asked tho support of parents in this class of work. Apostlo Hyrum M. Smith spoko on the following topics: ' ciders should speak by tho promptings of the Holy Spirit; prayer and its necessity; tho law of tithing; tho necessity and benefits bene-fits of obeying council; tho need of reform re-form in taking care of farm machinery and implements during tho winter season; sea-son; tho duty of man to his wife and children.
