Wlxo'm, chief clerk In the United SUlea Land Office, was next called and gave formal evidence evi-dence in regard to the application of Alfred Thompson to make desert entry on the various lets named tbeielD,and othermatters appertaining appertain-ing to the catc Professor Marcus B. Jones, C. E-, was re called and further questioned in relation to the growths upon the lands in dispute, tbe gathering of salt, etc Mr. Henry Fitthugh, also recalled, re-called, was similarly questioned but more particularly in regard to the nature of tbe vegetation to be found upon tbe disputed lands. This finished the whole of the testimony forthcoming on both sides, and without further argument or suggestion on the part of counsel the case was left in the hands of tbe Registrar and Receiver, whose decision, de-cision, however, will not, in all probability, be given until early In the ner "fear |
