A meeting of the Board of Education Educa-tion was held last eTenlng, Mayor Scott presiding. Mr. Millspaugh asked that Mrs. McKay, one of the teachers, have her salary advanced to $75 per month, her position warranting the Increase. Beferredto the Committee on Teachers. Mr. Millspaugh also recommended a system of electric bells to secure uniformity in class work. Referred to the Committee on School work. The commltteo on examination of teachers presented a communication from Superintendent Mlllsiaugti regarding re-garding examinations, recommending recommend-ing that no examinations be held in the coming vacation. Tne committee on school work reported re-ported favorably upon Mr. Lewis' application for permission to use the lower room in the Fifteenth Ward school building for a night school. The committee ou school supidies reported in favor of employing an extra teacher to take the place of any teacher who may be ill or be assigned to do duty elsewhere by the Superintendent, also that an assistant teacher be employed. The report was referred to the committee on Teachers to carry out the ai tlon of the board in adopting the rejort.
