Visitors, to the sacred spot, where sice the silent dust of that greatand noble man, will be pleased to sec tho handsomu Improvements recently mado in and around the old cemetery where in past years the decraoed members of the Kimball family were buried. It is located Immediately in the rearef the old homestead, on thchlll,nearthe head of Main Street. A spot of ground, 4 by 5 rods, including in-cluding but not confined to the original cemetery, has been set apart under a perpetual grant from the City Council, who have allowed its ue for the purpose Indicated on condition con-dition that no more interments be mado there. This spot is now surrounded, sur-rounded, in lieu of the old picket fence of former years, w itli n handsomely hand-somely ornamented fence of wrought iron, on a coping of cut Kvuno stone, aud the soil lu'ido sonn to grass and planted with shade tree. A row of poplars extends ex-tends all around the Interior of the enclosure, the one entrance to w I1KI1 Is by a ga'c on the south. In the centre of the lot stands the monument of Pn-Idcnt Kimball, an Imposing shaft or saudstoue aud marble, on a bate id" granite.
