Aaron Tyas, of this city, has had a thrilling experience which will no doubt result In his death. He was found yesterday firmly imbedded along the banks of Little Timber Tim-ber Creek, in the black clay and mud, with water within two inches of bis chin. He had been in that position for about eighteen hours, unprotected from the rays of the sun. ilo was discovered about 10 o'clock yesterday morning by a boy who was wandering along the banks of the creek. His attention was attracted to the man by hearing a splashing In the water. At first ho was of tho opinion that it was a turtle. He armed himself with a stick and proceeded cautiously cau-tiously to where the object lay, and was nearly frlghtenej out of his wits by seeing tbe face of a man In the w ater. file noise he had beard had been made by the motion of the man's arms. This was no easy task, for he was firmly held down by mud, and it took the, eflorts of both to release him. He was taken atliore, and it was found that his experience had unbalanced his reason, and caused total blindness, although hlseyes appeared alkright, Uewas removed to thu rltv l.-ili where an effort was made to restore his reason. He repeatedly uttered, "I ani all covered with Ice; let me lie down, I am m tired; I don't want to see anything." A suit of clothes was procured and everything every-thing done to relieve his mind. Medical attendance was procured, but late last night there was very little hope for his recovery. It is supposed that he wandered lo tbe banks of the creek shortly after 4 o'clock on Monday afternoon, as he was seen In the vicinity at the time. Having got into the marsh be was unable to extricate himself, and it was only by accident that ho was not drowned by tbe tides during the night.
