Show THK HI KTH. X- IkleiitM. Parties ami Powder Pat- riolisiu. The Fourth passed off quietly and pleasantly. Happily without any accident ac-cident or disturhanee worthy f mention, men-tion, nearly all the young folks went away from Friaeo on pieuies, leaving the old folks and chrome to g it alone. The Carbonate picnic to Morchous spring, conducted by the ladies of that camp,Vas n particularly particu-larly pleasant one, as it seemed to he devoid of the hoodlum clement sa common to most outing" hero. The A. O. V. W hop at IWcn'a Opera House in the eveningvas a very enjoyable alfair, everybody was there and everybody hal a happy time. The ladies looked lovely in light lawns, and the animated scene made a pretty panorama for thu looker on. Although a public party, there was a noticeable absence of rowdyism, which fact rellecU credit upon the management. At the saloons there were the usual holiday carousals and knock-downs, but no serious trouble, and, upon the whole, the day was probably as decently de-cently observed here as anywhere. |
