Show BREATH MAY TELL PATIENT'S MALADY The Columbus Dispatch reported last month on an examination given to a group of students taking tak-ing a course in medical technology in an Ohio school. "What is the first test you would make on an emergency patient pa-tient suffering unconsciousness from an unknown cause?" was one question.. Most of the class took a long time on the answer. Some suggested sug-gested an electro-cardiogram tc rule out possible heart disease; some preferred blood sugar determination deter-mination for diabetic coma; others thought of various complicated procedures. One student thought it over for a moment, wrote: "I'd smell his breath." Pathfinder. |
