Show NEW VFW POST ORGANIZED IN SPRINGVILLE Officers Elected And Meetings Set For Twice Monthly A Veterans , of Foreign Wars post was organized in Springville Monday evening under the direction direc-tion of a large group of department depart-ment officials and with a large representation of veterans in attendance. at-tendance. John Smith was elected commander com-mander of the new post with Rex Johnson, senior vice-commander, Mays Anderson, junior vice-commander; Sid Russell, adjutant, and Pete Morgan, quartermaster. Other officers are to be elected at future meetings. Regular meetings of the new post are scheduled for the first and third Monday of each month, with the next meeting scheduled for Monday, Feb. 18, at Memorial hall. The new organization is to be known as Art City Post VFW No. 5787. ,. Among the state commanders present were, George P. Bowman, department commander; Dr. Don C. Jones, senior vice-commander, Allan Rowbotham, department chaplain; Lloyd E. Doman, department depart-ment adjutant and service officer; offi-cer; Roy Tyler, department judge advocate; V. Davies, department chief-of-staff; Edward W. Bent-ley, Bent-ley, district commander Dist. 4; Ivan Farnsworth, commander of Provo post 2162; Paul Hershey, publicity officer of Provo post; Grant Oliphant, public relations officer; Ray Bergstrausser, deputy dep-uty chief-of-staff. |
