Show CIVIC, CHURCH, EDUCATIONAL LEADERS TO CONTRIBUTE TO NEWSPAPER WEEK The Springville Herald with other newspapers of the state and the nation will observe the tenth anniversary anni-versary of National Newspaper Week October 1 to 8, and with other papers will re- view the role which newspapers should play in community life. In an effort to emphasize the fact that the newspaper is the medium me-dium open to the public for communication com-munication as well as the exchange of views and opinions, an invitation invita-tion has been given to heads of the various educational, church and civic organizations of Springville Spring-ville and Mapleton to express in next week's Herald their ideas on the functions of a home-town newspaper. Each of the citizens will begin his article, "If I were Editor Of The Herald, I Would" and continue to tedl his views. The general public and the Herald Her-ald staff may look forward to many interesting comments and worthwhile suggestions to help the paper function more adequately in the community. Going along with the slogan of the week is the theme, "Rediscover "Redis-cover Your Home Town," and it is hoped that through next week's articles, we may rediscover to some extent our own community. Nielsen, president of Lions; Guy Brown, commander of the Legion; Blaine Thorn, 2tt-30 club president; Preston Hooper, president Mapleton Jaycees; May-land May-land Russell, president Springville Jaycees; Bill Ruff, chief of the Fire department; Reed Averett, Wild Life Federation president; Mrs. Anna Ostlund, PTA Council president; presi-dent; Mrs. Lucy Roylance, federated federa-ted club president; Mrs. Nellie Burt, Legion Auxiliary president; Mrs. Mary Smart, DUP president.
