Blaine Johnson was elected president of the Kolob Stake M Men organization Tuesday night at a leadership meeting conducted con-ducted in the Second ward by Supervisor Burton Tew. Blair Sargent was selected as vice-president, with Paul Hanson of the Fifth ward, named as secretary. Two representatives for the District Dis-trict 6 committee were chosen, with Blaine Johnson and Glen F. Clark given the posts. These two men will represent this stake at all district meetings. Outlook Bright ... j As the M Men basketball teams swing into regular practice sessions ses-sions throughout the stake and church, prospects for1 another outstanding out-standing year in Kolob look good. Rules for the church sport have not been changed materially from last year, and with the age ruling remaining open to the older fellows, fel-lows, and with the return of many veterans to the home team, all wards in Kolob stake are planning to field teams here. If all wards are able to field a team, it will be the first time in many years here. Mapleton, the defending title-holder title-holder and fourth place winner in the All Church meet last year, has its club pretty well split up and will have several vacancies to fill, as will some of the other wards in the stake. League games will begin in the middle of December and will be announced as soon as the schedule is drawn up. |
