Show Local FIVC Meet To Hear Varied Program The Women's Federated clubs of Springville conducted an annual conjoint meeting last Friday evening eve-ning in the Little Theatre of the high school Art Building. The entertainment featured talks by Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Gittins, English students attending the Brigham Young University, who compared in interesting manner, educational and social advantages in England and America. They also displayed a number of fine character paintings done by Mr. Gittins in England and he gave two fine vocal numbers. Supplementing the entertainment presented by the English artists, were musical numbers from the Brigham Young University including includ-ing a vocal trio by Edith Jensen, Owen Clark and Homer Cristen-sen, Cristen-sen, with guitar accompaniment by Mr. Clark. Alma Snow gave a violin selection, accompanied by Robert Thorn. The program was presented under un-der direction of Mrs. Earl B. Sum-sion Sum-sion of the Mothers Study club, president of the local Women's Federation. At the close of the evening, tasty tas-ty refreshments were served by hostesses representing each of the clubs, comprising Mrs. Milton Harrison Har-rison from the Alpha Beta club; Mrs. Paul Thorn, Ladies Literary club; Mrs. Richard A. Huntington, from the Mothers Study club; Mrs. W. H. Anderson, Home Culture; Cul-ture; Mrs. Ralph Child, Aureole club; Mrs. Reed Holdaway, Cultural Cultur-al Arts club; Mrs. LaDean Hen-richson, Hen-richson, Pari Passu club; Mrs. Madelyn Despain, JeuneMere club. During the evening, the Jeune Mere club was welcomed into the federated group, making eight clubs now federated in Springville. |
