Show 'ROUND ABOUT TOWN Someone has suggested that a police officer be at the intersection intersec-tion of Main and Center streets at noon and at night when children from the Lincoln school cross the highway. People in the vicinity of the intersection declare that cars run through the red light and often of-ten through the yellow one, thus endangering the lives of the many boys and girls who cross the street at this time. If one life was saved it would be worth the effort. We wonder if the Art visitors noticed the candy and gum wrappers wrap-pers scattered about the lawn of the high school and Art Building. On days the wind doesn't blow, the caretakers really have a job picking pick-ing up behind the students who should take pride in keeping the Art Building grounds, of all places, plac-es, attractive. Firemen say it's a serious thing the way adults and children congregate con-gregate at fires, thus retarding the work of the firemen in many cases. But the last warning has been given this week and hereafter, hereaf-ter, fire followers will get a ticket, firemen warn. i Another traffic improvement is noted on the intersection of Fourth South and Fourth East in the form of a blinker. With this and other signs, warning motorists of the dangerous corner, there should be fewer accidents. (Continued on Page Ten) 'Round About Town r . . (Continued from Page One) ' Those responsible for the improvement im-provement being made on the road east of Fourth East on Fourth South toward Brookside, should be complimented. If you haven't been up that way for awhile, you should go to see what has been done. Policr officers again this week warn parents to caution children to stay away from the creek banks. The water is high nd it is a dangerous dan-gerous practice for children to go near the stream. . i |
