Show New Arrivals Girl, to Mr. and Mrs. H. J. "Bud" Campbell, Jan. 14. MOTHER STUDY CLUB HAS HUSBAND-GUEST PARTY A large group of husbands and other guests were in attendance at a Mothers Study club party last Friday evening at Memorial hall club room, with Mrs. A. G. Thorn as hostess. A delicious chicken dinner was served at long tables decorated attractively with miniature flags and other favors. During the evening an enjoyable enjoy-able program was rendered with Mrs. Willis Sumsion master of ceremonies and Mrs. A. G. Peterson, Pet-erson, toastmaster. Mrs. Wayne Johnson and Mrs. J. O. Reynolds were program chairmen. Mrs. Ronald Beardall gave a toast to the guests and Mrs. Emma Em-ma Alleman responded. The ladies chorus of the club rendered two numbers. William Schreiner gave two vocal solos. Mrs. J. O. Reynolds Rey-nolds gave a tribute to the flag and led in a salute. Later, the group sang the national anthem, with Ed Williams as soloist. The program was featured by two one-act plays, given by Mrs. Wm. Schreiner. SECOND WARD JUNIORS AT LOVELY PARTY Celebrating 100 per cent class attendance, the Junior girls of the Second ward prpared and served a banquet at their Rose Membership Member-ship evening, Tuesday. Laurene. Williams, Jo Ann Stewart, Stew-art, Joan Blackett, class officers, were in charge of the following program: Welcome talk, Ruby Biggs; vocal solo, Joyce Lee Master; Mas-ter; Rose poem, Joan Blackett; story of White Rose, Mrs. Mary Boyer toast to Junior girls, Tau-dy Tau-dy Davis; presentation of roses to guests, Maxine Roberts; piano duet, Norma Brockbank and Norma Nor-ma Liechty. Bouquets of roses were presented present-ed the following guests: Mrs. Harold Har-old Christensen, Mrs. Louise Clyde, Mrs. Emily Miner, Mrs. Gene Johnson, John-son, Mrs. Mercedes Anderson. Roses were the theme at the banquet and decorations. Red tapers, tap-ers, place cards, napkins also carried car-ried out the theme. The Junior girls being honored were: Ruby Biggs, Joan Blackett, Norma Brockbank, Trudy Davis, Florice Hjorth, Norma Liechty, Joyce Lee Master, Ina Miner, Maxine Roberts, Nadine Snow, Jo Ann Stewart, Laurene Williams, Geraldine York, Elaine Anderson, Irene Jones and the teachers, Mrs. Mary S. Boyer and Mrs. Virl L. Harrison. LEGION AUXILIARY AT FEBRUARY MEET Mrs. Lottie Worthen of Provo, gave an interesting talk featuring the national defense program of the American Legion Auxiliary on Wednesday evening at Memorial hall. President Zola Gogarty conducted con-ducted the meeting which also featured fea-tured vocal music by Mrs. Helen Thorpe and Mrs. Geraldine Simmons, Sim-mons, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Bird. Bernice Chader, home on furlough from Louisiana where she is serving with the Air WACS, gave a short talk. Refreshments were served under direction of the hostesses, Mrs. Mabel Brown, Mrs. Rebecca Fullmer Full-mer and Mrs. Vivian Johnson. |
