Show FISHING CLOSES SEPT. 30 IN LISTED STREAMS Several of Utah's favorite fishing fish-ing "holes" will be closed for the season September 30. Among those are the Deer Creek Reservoir on the Provo River; Fish Lake, Navajo Nav-ajo Lake in Kane county; Johnson John-son Valley Reservoir, Ashley Creek, Seven-Mile Creek, Fremont River from its source to Buck Springs and South Fork of the Provo River. The Deer Creek closing date was moved a month ahead under the "without further notice" clause in the 1945 fishing proclamation at the request of Fisheries Supt. M. J. ' Madsen. Purpose is to protect pro-tect spawning brown trout and newly planted stock of 5-inch browns. The Deer Creek closing lowers the curtain on angling in all Provo Pro-vo waters from Olmsted Plant at the mouth of the canyon to Murdoch Mur-doch Power Plant near Hailstone as provided in the proclamation. Strawberry Reservoir does not close until October 15 and Scho-field Scho-field Reservoir, one of the most productive spots in the late fall, until October 31, the general closing clos-ing date. |
