Show FACTORY CLINIC DETECTS CANCER The world's first industrial cancer can-cer detection clinic is now functioning func-tioning as a project of Avondale Mills, Sylacauga, Ala. With women workers and kin of mill workers voluntarily com-m com-m for examination at six-months' intervals, it is believed case histories his-tories of early discovery and treatment will provide the vitally needed scientific information. Already the cilnic is credited with saving several lives which has satisfied Hugh Comer, executive execu-tive vice-president of Avondale Mills and chief financial supporter support-er of te clinic, that his investment invest-ment is profitable. This industrial concern already had an outstanding health program pro-gram which gave workers' families fami-lies complete medical treatment for a nominal cost when the American Cancer Society sought a large group willing to submit to regular and thorough testing. Mr. Comer offered the facilities of his mill and its hospital. |
