Show CAMP SPRINGVILLE D. U. P. E1LECTS Mrs. Nettie Thorn was elected captain of Camp Springville D. U. P. at a regular meeting of the camp held at the Thorn home last Thursday afternoon. She succeeds Mrs. Floss Cates. Other officers of the camp include in-clude Mrs. Mary Reid and Mrs. Dorothy Wheeler, vice-captains; Mrs. Hattie Williams, secretary; Mrs. Lura Patrick, chorister; Miss Fannie Rowland, registrar; Mrs. Lydia Palfreyman, treasurer; Mrs. Ella Reynolds, class leader, and Mrs. Mary J. Finley, parliamentarian. parlia-mentarian. A number of the officers offic-ers were re-elected. The program for the afternoon included a history of the life of George Brooks, given by a daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Cornelia Allan. Mrs. Ella Reynolds gave the lesson on the pioneer, Louise Burns Pratt. Musical Musi-cal numbers included a vocal solo by Louie Thorn, accompanied by his sister, June Thorn, and piano selections by Howard Kearns. Mrs. Ella Reynolds read a poem in tribute to the retiring officers and Mrs. Floss Cates, the retiring president, presented each of the officers with whom she had worked, work-ed, with a lovely corsage. A special guest at the meeting was Mrs. Emma Huff of Provo, Utah county historian, who spoke briefly during the meeting. The program closed with the serving of refreshments by the hostesses. |
