It's surprising what just a little paint here and there can do. . ! The city will undoubtedly be complimented by the many Art Exhibit visitors for its clean walks and streets, a result of the city-wide clean-up activities last Friday. There are only a few vacant lots about town which were missed in the clean-up and the owners of these will undoubtedly have the walks cleaned and weeds burned, shortly. i "Have you noticed what a fine 'job the boys did at the library? Several loads of leaves and "brush" were taken from the front yard during the Friday clean-up. Al Thorpe of the C. of C. Streets and Walks committee says that if all the merchants on Main street will take time to sweep the walks in front of their places of business, I the city will keep .the gutters cleaned, all of which would add up to a neater, cleaner business section. sec-tion. Springville recently had new "Stop For Pedestrians" signs placed at the pedestrian lanes on Main street and if pedestrians and autoists read the signs, there should be no danger in crossing Main street. And, at this point, Police Chief H. M. Weight and others of his force get real provoked at people who insist on crossing Main street between pedestrian lanes. If the lanes are not used in the future, Chief Weight warns, someone may be hailed into court. After all, this is a traffic violation.
