Show Mystery Dancer DANCING SKELBTON 5r ERATIH3 s Hi-il 0 1 , APPARA TOS NICE trick that is a sure-fire entertainer for your next party is a dancing skeleton. The skeleton stands up alone the moment you place it on the table, and then, when you move away, the crazy thing starts to jump and kick. The secret of the trick lies in a piece of black thread which you pass over the arms and under the shoulders of the skeleton as you stand it on the exhibition table. One end of the thread is fastened securely to the wall in a corner of the room and the other end goes over the top of a screen where it is held by an assistant. The hidden helper behind the screen makes the skeleton dance by jerking the thread, which is invisible from the front because the small table on which you place the skeleton is directly in front of a drape of black cloth. The skeleton itself is drawn on stiff cardboard. You can make the dancer any size but will find one about six to eight inches high best to handle. The body and head are all one section. The four limbs have to be cut out in two pieces each. This makes eight places where there are joints. These are marked on the diagram. At each of these joints holes are made with a needle and the limbs are held together loosely by means of black threads which are passed through the joint holes knotted on both sides, and ther clipped off close. |
