Show STORY HOUR SET 4 FOR FRIDAY AT THE LIBRARY Noted Doll Queen Will Be In , Attendance To Bid Farewell To Children Of City Children of Springville are invited in-vited to come to the Children's room of the public library on Friday Fri-day at 3 p. m., when the first story hour of the summer season will be conducted by Mrs. Florence Phillips, librarian. At this time, also, H. R. H., the beautiful Queen Lillabet, queen of the Sprig of Green Memorial museum mu-seum at Port Arthur, Texas, who has been visiting in Utah Valley for the past few weeks, will say good-bye to the children of this city. , Queen Lillabet came from Texas Tex-as with a group of royal personages person-ages to pay court to Queen Rosa-bell Rosa-bell of Utah doll fame, who has been celebrating her thirteenth birthday which fell on the "93rd of March," a fairy date beginning on the first day of May and lasting last-ing all through to "Midsummer Day." Queen Lillabet has been highly complimented and feted in royal style, both by children and adults. Only recently, she was the guest of Mayor Maurice Harding of Provo, Pro-vo, who gave her a letter of greeting greet-ing a carry back to her friends in Texas. The doll queen presented the mayor with a souvenir plate bearing the words and music, "Deep In The Heart of Texas." At the library, also present during dur-ing the story hour, will be Queen Rosabelle, Mizz Rabbit, and all the Texas royal folks, except Pixie, Pix-ie, the little naneen, who is Mizz Rabbit's adopted daughter. Pixie will be remembered as the little doll tied to the apron string of Mizz Rabbit's apron, but somehow some-how she got loose and during her first hours of freedom, suffered a serious injury to her leg. She has had to go to the doll hospital in Ogden. Pixie will not be at the library to say goodbye, neither will she be able to depart with the others of the Texas royal party par-ty in their gorgeous carriage which brought them all to Utah and with which they were exhibited exhib-ited in the D. T. R. store window here some time ago. At the close of the story hour, Queen Lillabet will be delighted to let the children make a wish on her double wishing ring, and will then say goodbye and take her departure. She will carry with her many presents and greetings and fairy wishes, which she will be able to tuck away in her memory mem-ory pocket and take back to the Sprig of Green museum at Port Arthur, Texas, where she reigns supreme. |
