Steel subsidiary, for the United States Government, is rapidly becoming a "bastion of steel." Scenes of gigantic steel installations such as this partial view of Blast Furnace Fur-nace No. 1, nearing completion, are common throughout the threat project. Three blast furnaces, each with an approximate capaciiiv of 1,200 tons of pig iron daily, are being constructed at Geneva. This largest integrated steel mill west of the Mississippi, costing 31-3,-000.000 and covering some 1,500 acres, is being designed to supply ,---, f -,-iSc Coast shipyards. |
