Show o Mrs. Pennington Celebrates 82nd birthday Mrs. Josephine E. Pennington, a native of Norway and resident of this city since 1S85, celebrated her eighty-second birthday Wednesday Wed-nesday at her home, 36 North Second Sec-ond West street. Her family is planning a party in her honor later lat-er in the week, possibly Sunday. Mrs. Pennington, born in Oslo, Norway, Aug. 2, 1862, came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Ekstrom, at the age of three years. They settled in Milton, Morgan county, and Mrs. Pennington lived there until her marriage to Henry Pennington, Feb. 2, 1881. They were married in the Salt Lake endowment house. After their marriage they moved to Coma, Colo., and later lived at Echo, Summit Co. They came to Sprfngville in 1885. She has been active in L. D. S. church work and in her earlier life served as the first president of the Retrenchment Society, which later became the M. I. A. at Milton. Mil-ton. She is an honorary member of the D. U. P., Camp Spring Creek. Her children are, Mrs. Alice Harrison of Helper; Mrs. Kate Mower, Mrs. Nell Vane, Ted, Harry, Har-ry, and Bill Pennington, SpringviUe. Spring-viUe. She also has fifteen grandchildren grand-children and twenty great-grandchildren. |
