Show i In Our Town... MILES CURFEW Many of you have probably met Miles by now. He is our newest addition to the tonsorial fraternity of Springville, having taken over Reed Averett's shop when Reed had his misunderstanding with the Draft Board. Miles is a native of Beaver, Utah. He farmed a good deal until un-til he discovered that he was too light for the heavy work and too heavy for the lighter work so, by devious ways, became a barber. For more than twenty years he has followed his profession in Sa-lina Sa-lina Utah, where, after doing his stint in World War I, he has acted as service officer of Post No. 36 American Legion for twenty years, also City Treasurer of Salina since 1 1932, and whatever time was left him, he devoted to hunting and fishing. This compartive inactivity must have bored him because, a little over a year ago, he came up to Geneva and operated a shop there for a year before coming finally to Springville. Apparently through with sowing his wild oats, he has ought a home here. The shop is undergoing a complete renovation and it looks like we have an excellent ex-cellent addition to our business section as well as a good workable citizen. Miles may not sound very exciting, excit-ing, but he can hold his own with Biz White without raising his voice and that takes some doing. Welcome to Springville, Miles. THE CATALYST. |
