Show Lecture Given On Technocracy Sunday Evening In a lecture entitled "The Pioneers Pio-neers of the New America," given giv-en at the high school auditorium in Sprlngvllle on the evening of Sunday, April 21, Wilton Ivie of Salt Lake City section of Technocracy, Techno-cracy, Inc., predicted that a new social order is imminent on the North American continent. The speaker pointed out that there were no more geographical frontiers on this continent; that the geographical pioneers had done their work well, but now it was over. The industrialist, the businessman and the financier, who followed the pioneers in the exploitation of this continent, developed de-veloped the highest standard of living here that the world had ever known. But their work, too, is about done. Technology is ren. dering them obsolete as social leaders in America today. The continental area of North America is capable of producing an abundance of goods and services ser-vices for all of the people here all that everyone can use. Since the price system is unable to distribute dis-tribute an abundance, a new and scientific social order, known as "Technocracy," must step in and do the job. Technocracy, Inc., under the leadership of Howard Scott, is organizing or-ganizing the "Pioneers of the New America," to be ready to function when the price system is no longer able to operate. That time, according to the Technocrats, Techno-crats, will be in the very near future fu-ture probably before the end of 1942, if present trends continue. Technocracy, Inc., through their Salt Lake City section, is establish estab-lish organizations this summer in all of the more important cities and towns of Utah. |
