Show Springville, Lincoln Play Here Friday Pre-Season Game Will Indicate Probable Strength of Devils In Coming League Encounters Springville high will tangle with the Lincoln high school here Friday afternoon at 2:30 p. m. in another tire-season basketball game. Lincoln defeated Pay- son, competitive foe of the Devils, in a pre-season game played at Payson last week. Their score was 19 to 15. Friday's game will give local fans a chance to compare scores and at least get an idea as to how Springville and Payson will stand in competitive strength a-gainst a-gainst each other. While Lincoln was defeating the Payson team, Springville was also handing out a little too much close guarding and specialty "hot shots" for the B. Y. High Wildcats Wild-cats here last Friday to win 31 to 2 6. Kenneth Rothwell did some nice ball shooting for the Red Devils to keep his team in the f lead throughout the entire fracas. Coach Art Hughes' boys looked much improved and are steadily rounding out into what should be a real title threat for Nebo honors hon-ors this coming season. Scoring in the B. Y. high game was evenly divided among the team with L. Rothwell, Dallin, Teasdale, and Cameron garnering 4 points each; K. Jensen, 3 and Clark. 2. K. Rothwell scored 8. The game between Lincoln and Springville will be the last of the free pre-season games. Two other games will be played later here with an admission being charged. |
