Show BUSINESS DEAL BEING WASTED What we can't understand about this gasoline shortage and the discussion dis-cussion about available tank cars on the railroads, is why the men who sell gasoline and the men who sell transportation can't get together toge-ther and use the tank cars without with-out waiting upon a governmental investigation. If the tank cars are available, and if they can haul the gasoline that the Eastern States need, the j railway magnates and the gasoline companies can proceed with business busi-ness and get the gas where it can be used. Here, it seems to us, Is a perfectly per-fectly good business proposition going to waste, with big business men and so-called private initiative initia-tive asleep. There is ample gasoline gaso-line in the producing states and the railroad people say there are ample tank cars. Certainly, no one disputes there are ample prospective prospec-tive purchasers for full gasoline supplies. Japanese premier sees no reason for strife with United States. |
