Show EARL J. GLADE TO SPEAK AT PROGRAM ON 4l" Earl J. Glade, executive vice-president vice-president of radio station KSL, will be the speaker at a special patriotic program planned to begin be-gin at 2:30 p. m. at the City park following a band concert and special spe-cial nation-wide patriotic broadcast broad-cast on July 4th. On this Independence day, at the same moment, all Americans are called upon to renew their devotion de-votion to our country and its American Am-erican institutions. Exactly at the split second, the "Star Spangled Banner" will be played all across the country. This will be preceded by the short address on the air by the president of the United States. Immediately after this addreHH, at all Fourth of July celebrations, meetings, ball games, seashores, picnics, homes or hospitals, cities or farms, mountains or plains, wherever Americans may be, respect res-pect will be paid to the flag while bands locally and one on the air will play the "Star Spangled Banner." Ban-ner." Thereafter, all Americans, in unison, 130,000,000 strong, will renew re-new the "Pledge of Allegiance." This solemn moment will begin at 2 p. m. Following will be given Die patriotic pat-riotic program which will include vocal solos by Helen Palfreyman; numbers by a male quartet under the direction of Carl Nelson; music mu-sic by the Happy Chappies, and numbers by Jim Allred and his one-man band. Preparations for the big program pro-gram have been under the direction direc-tion of M. W. Bird, Charles Boyer, and G. L. Anderson, and Howard Salisbury, secretary of the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce. |
