Show WOMEN OF CITY INVITED TO NURSE AID CLASS A new class for Red Cross volunteer vol-unteer Nurses' Aids will begin next Monday at 7 p. m. in the basement of the Provo public library, li-brary, and a special invitation is extended to Springville women to enroll. Mrs. Clara J. Sumsion, R. N., of this city, will conduct the six weeks' course which is composed of 35 hours theory and 45 hours of hospital training. Following graduation the Aid is asked to give 150 hours per year to the hospital, but during the present crisis it is preferred that the 'women 'wo-men serve 150 hours during the first three months following their graduation. All women interested in the course are urged to come to the public library at 6 p. m., Monday, an hour before the class begins, and members of the committee in charge will be in attendance to enroll members. The American Red Cross urges all women between the ages of 18 and 50 years, or high school graduates, grad-uates, in good physical condition, to join the class. The need of trained nurses' aids at the present time and for months to come, is apparent. Following graduation, the nurses' aids do not necessarily have to work in a hospital. They may also serve in various phases of public health work. Any applicant for the class may contact Mrs. Sumsion here for further information in connection with the course or transportation. |
