Show Legion And Auxiliary i Begin War Project Every Home To Be Visited By Legion And Auxiliary Members For Old Records ; Week Of July 18-24 Designated For Drive , The American Legion and Legion Auxiliary have been assigned the task of collecting records for our men in the armed forces, and according to officers in charge of the two organizations, this drive is to get underway on July 18 and continue until July 24. Last year 370,000 new records were made from the old ones and the value of this collection of records as a morale builder cannot can-not be excelled, according to Legion Le-gion officers. They are sent to the most remote parts of the country where armed forces are stationed. The period from July 18 to 24 has been designated as the time of the drive and during this time members of the Legion and Auxiliary Auxil-iary plan to make a house to house canvass for the old records, both (Continued on page eight) RECORDS... (Continued from page one) in Springville and Mapleton. Citizens Citi-zens of the two communities are urged to have their records ready when committeemen call. The records desired are old Columbia, Victor and Dekker types, which are the most suitable for the making mak-ing of new records. The local fire station has been designated as the central station, and those who desire may take their records there or, if they are not called for, notify anyone on the committee and the records will be collected. Commander J. Y. Bearnson, of the local post, and Mrs. Mable Brown, president of the Auxiliary, met recently and appointed general gen-eral chairmen for the drive and also selected committees to work in the various wards.
