Show LARGE JAYCEE 4 GROUP TO ATTEND CONFAB Springville Club To Sponsor Grant S. Thorn As State Vlce-Pres. Candidate The largest delegation of Jay-cees Jay-cees from Springville ever to at-tent at-tent a state convention will be present Saturday when the state war conference of the Junior Chamber of Commerce convenes in a three-day session at the New-house New-house Hotel. Some twenty members mem-bers of the local club, with their partners, have filed reservations. The local club, having enjoyed an outstanding year of activity, has completed scrapbooks and digests di-gests for entry in the annual contest con-test for awards offered by the state organization. Entries were submitted Tuesday for judging by the state awards committee in the following categories: Outstanding local project, outstanding local president, city beautification and scrap drive, aviation activity, and the Giessenbier contest, the latter covering a club's year-round activity. activ-ity. The Springville Banking Company Com-pany has donated the trophy in the state aviation contest. The Springville club will also seek the nomination of Grant S. Thorn for state vice-president. Mr. Thorn has been an exceptional leader in Jaycee work, and would prove a valuable asset to the state organization should he be successful success-ful in being elected to that important import-ant office. I Many prominent speakers have been secured for the conference, according to Ray L. Richards, state Jaycee president, and will give valuable suggestions to club members in furtherance of the war effort. |
