Show came to Utah in 1874. For many years he held responsible positions with various railroads and later he became interested in the mining min-ing industry. He has witnessed the profession and upbuilding of the western states and of this city. He came here in 1896, and became be-came one of the successful farmers farm-ers of the community. He has been retired for a number of years. Mrs. Vane was born in Appanoose Appa-noose county, Iowa, November 22, 1856, a daughter of Hyrum and Nancy Wood Clark. She crossed the plains with her parents by ox-team ox-team in 1864. The family settled In Springville and she has made her home here since. The couple, married on June 2 3, 1881, have three children, Mrs. B. M. Mendenhall and Howard Vane of Springville, and Joseph Vane of Salt Lake City; also nine grandchildren grand-children and five great-grandchildren. .
