Show t-HClubs Of Two Towns join In Annual Outing "Approximately 100 Young People From Springville-Mapleton Attend Big Bonfire Program With approximately one hundred young people in attendance, the annual Springville-Mapleton 4-H club outing was held Monday at Sulphur Springs, in Hobble Creek canyon. Leaders and club members rep- renting almost every group in Uese two communities, enjoyed the day's program. Early in the evening, picnic suppers sup-pers were held by the various poaps who afterward engaged in some lively competitive sports. The activities were climaxed with i program in which some of the best available talent from the two Wires participated. Mrs. J. C. Nlelson, representing tie Utah county organization, introduced in-troduced Mrs. Yvonne Perry of Pleasant View, president of the tounty organization, who conducted conduct-ed the program around a huge bonfire. S. K. Boswell, Utah county agricultural ag-ricultural agent, gave the principal princi-pal talk of the evening, complimenting compli-menting the club members on past accomplishments and explaining the value of 4-H club work. Mrs. Bessie Klrkham Lemon, Utah tounty demonstration agent, led la community singing to open and tonclude the program. Other program numbers included includ-ed a vocal solo by Miss Thora Whiting; a vocal duet by Carol Conover and Ruth Hardy; a read-in! read-in! hy Beth Averett; a vocal duet by Kay Weight and Dale Law; fong and instrumental accompaniment, accompani-ment, Newell Webb; reading, Lucille Lu-cille Phillips; vocal duet, Shirley tram and Elaine Jones; instrumental instru-mental music, Elmo Curtis. The recreational camp offered J Ideal site for the outing, which ns one of the most successful ind enjoyable held the past few rears. The county leaders were assisted with plans for the affair k Mrs. Beth Barrett, Mrs. Estella Ollerton and Miss Lois Hales. |
