Fifteen Years Ago ... Mrs. Ann Crandall Haymond, 46. died Tuesday at her home after a long illness. Complimentary to Miss Ina Hol-ley, Hol-ley, who was married September 19, a shower was given by Mrs. Uda Holley, at the home of her mother, Mrs. Dallas Holley on Wednesday. The Springville Merchants are going to give a car away to some lucky person at Christmas tome, it was announced this week. With each 50 cent purchase, a ticket will be given and the car will be a fine Christmas gift for some one. The project is being sponsored by the fact finding committe of the Ki-wanis Ki-wanis Club. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Mann of this city announce the birth of a son at their home. The new baby has two sisters. r Twenty-five Years Ago . . . Mr. and Mrs George Reynolds announce the arrival of their ninth child, a girl, born September 3. Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Reynolds announce an-nounce the engagement of their daughter Birdella, to Jack Beam-son Beam-son of Spanish Fork. The marriage will take place in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hoyle left Sunday to make their home in Salt Lake City. Mrs. F. C. Packard of Salt Lake City is spending this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Boyer of Springville. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Metcalf and daughter Katherine of San Francisco, Fran-cisco, Calif., are visiting relatives and friends here. Albert B. Worthen, 82, well known pioneer and Black Hawk Indian war veteran of Springville died at his home here on Friday following two months illness. Kolob district teachers conducted conduc-ted a convention in the Fourth ward Wednesday evening. Ten minute talks were given by Wm. Tew, Seymour L. Mendenhall. Jr., George Simkins and Selvoy J. Boyer. Boy-er. The Service Star Legion gave a special program honoring Mrs. Viola Roylance Thursday afternoon. after-noon. A miniature parade that won the plaudits of throngs and a fairy festival in the afternoon brought to a close the 3-day celebration marking the 80th anniversary of the settlement of Springville.
