Show 5Music Club Hars Fine Program At March Meeting An entertaining and educational program featured the meeting of the Springille Federated Music club when they met at the home of Mrs. Virgil Bird on Friday evening even-ing of last week. Mrs. F. C. Packard gave the history of the opera from the beginning be-ginning to the light French and Italian renditions. She said that opera had it's beginning in the Catholic church and dates back to the 16th century. Of all the arts, music has the greatest power to reach people, she stated. Mrs. Eva Crandall was welcomed wel-comed as an honorary member and she responded with a few remarks. Mrs. Irma Brailsford entertained entertain-ed during the evening with vocal solos, accompanied by Evelyn Haws. The Ladies double trio, composed of Mrs. Clara Warner, Mrs. Brailsford, Mrs. Evelyn Boy-er, Boy-er, Mrs. Marjorie Bird, Mrs. Annie Forshee, Mrs. Phinda Finley, gave selections. Mrs. Max Sumslon and Mrs. Le-Roy Le-Roy Erickson gave a piano duet, "The Overture from Taunhau-ser", Taunhau-ser", by Wagoner and Mrs. Maurice Mau-rice Bird gave a selection from Rigeletto by Verdi. Mrs. Ellen Anderson An-derson entertained with a vocal selection accompanied by Mrs. Bird. The meeting was conducted by Mrs. Philda Finley and was concluded con-cluded with a tray luncheon. Mrs. Bird was assisted by her daughters-in-law. Mrs. Roy Bird and Mrs. Morris Bird. |
