Show Kent Palfreyman and LaMar Miner represented the Springville Junior Chamber of Commerce at the mock legislature Saturday in Salt Lake City. The men reported it Was interesting to note 'the voting vot-ing on the Junior college question which was similar to the voting by the State Legislature. Weber and Price delegates voted to maintain main-tain the colleges making the final count 42-37, the JCs reported. Wendell D. Maxfield, president of the state Jaycees, and his wife were in Springville Wednesday evening, to attend the annual Jaycee Jay-cee Sweetheart dinner meeting on Wednesday evening at Kapp's. Mr. and Mrs. John C. Worsen-croft Worsen-croft (Carmen Hutchings) and her two children of Salt Lake City were in Springville over the past weekend to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley B. Averett at Brookside. Visiting at the Lee Walker home Monday of this week were three of her sisters and their husbands, Mrs. William L. Weight, Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Whitehead of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Heber J. Reed of Provo. The Walker's also had a visit from neighbors, Mrs. Wm. W. Ruff, Salt Lake City, who was in Springville to her son Bill Ruff and daughter Mrs. Glenn Tipton and families. Visiting in Springville with relatives rel-atives and friends over the weekend week-end holiday were Mr. and Mrs. Selvoy J. Boyer of Salt Lake City, formerly of this city. |
