The auditions will be conducted bv the same personnel who conduct jf nationally and internationally ,wni: Biennial Young Artist Auctions Au-ctions of the NFMC. Miss Ruth M. rerrv, New Haven, Connecticut, a former National Chairman of ymin? Artist Ouditions for the Federation will serve as National Chairman for the Steinway ' Cen-tenial Cen-tenial Award. State auditors in the competition competi-tion are set between Feb. 15 and March S, and district auditions between be-tween March 15 and 25. Record-j'ujs Record-j'ujs of the performances of all district winners will be sent to Xew York to be judged by internationally-famous artists and teachers during April. From district dis-trict winners four pianists will be chosen to appear in national finals fi-nals in New York City durnig the last week in April. The competition competi-tion is open to pianists who have reached their 18th birthday but have not passed their 28th by March 15, 1954, and who are native or naturalized citizens of the United Unit-ed States and Canada. Further information in-formation may be obtained from Mrs. Mensel, 977 East Center St., Provo. the past 15 months. He received his B.S. degree from the BYU from which Afton also graduated in 1952. He was president of his senior class and both gave valedictory vale-dictory addresses at graduation. He hopes to receive his Masters degree in business administration in June of '54. |
