' ".. . : S J -:- i I Miss 'Madeline Weight Tea Honors Miss Madeline Weight Being Wed to Newell Beal Aug. 28 On Sunday from three until eight in. the evening, Miss Madeline Weight, bride-elect of Newell Beal of American Fork, was the honored guest at a tea given - by her mother, Mrs. Wm. F. Weight at their home. , In the receiving line were the future bride, in a beige silk afternoon after-noon gown accented by an orchid sorsage; her mother, who chose black with red corsage and Mrs. Lawrence Mowbray of American Fork, sister of Mr. Beal. Mrs. David T. Friel received at the door and the Misses Romania Meeks of Salt Lake City and Fay Whitney registered the guests. Hostesses in charge of the serving1 serv-ing1 included Mrs. Harold Jordan and Mrs. Wilford Gottfredson, assisted as-sisted by the Misses Ethel Chad-wick Chad-wick of Salt Lake" City; Margaret Alleman, Betty Jean Alleman, Carol Friel, LaRae Allan and Gwen Reid. In the trousseau rooms were, Mrs. Bert Nielson, Miss Afton Higgs of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Merrill Liston of Pleasant Grove and Miss June Mowbray of American Ameri-can Fork. Mrs. Earl Condie was in charge of the 1 dining room which was beautifully decorated with gladioli. A crystal bowl of pink and white glads banked with white tapers in crystal holders centered the serving serv-ing table. Gladioli in pastel shades were also used in various arrangements arrange-ments in the trousseau rooms. An entertaining program was conducted during the tea with Mrs. Warren Tonks and Miss Alzada Wilmott giving piano selections; Mrs. Catherine D. Wills, Mrs. Frances Clark, Miss Bonnie Bear-dall, Bear-dall, vocal numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Bird. Miss Ann Johnson and Miss Karen Ottesen enterained with instrumental numbers num-bers and Mrs. Vera Zobell and Mrs. Melba Wheeler gave a vocal duet, accompanied by Mrs. Bird. Vocal numbers were also given by Miss Norma Weight, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Leo Weight. Madeline will eixchage wedding promises with Mr. Beal today, August 28, in Salt Lake City. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. F. Weight and Mr. Beal's parents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Raynal Beal. In honor of the bride-to-be a shower was given Wednesday evening even-ing by Mrs. Lewis Thorpe and an aunt, Mrs. Earl Condie at the I Thorpe home and open houne will honor the couple in Salt Lake City js with Mrs. R. A. Mecks, assisted by I her daughter, Miss Ramona Meeks t and Miss Ethel Chadwick and Miss Afton Higgs acting as hostesses, s The couple will be at home in American Fork. f |
