Show Kolob Stake MiaMaids Will Tie Rose Bouquet in Special Ceremony Sept. 3 i When every girl MiaMaid age in a ward is enrolled in the class, the ward ties their rose-bouquet and that is an honor to, the class. During the past few months, however, how-ever, the stake has gained that honor with ( every girl in every ward enrolled and having filled other - activity requirements nec-esary nec-esary to conduct the special ceremony. cere-mony. The Stake Rose-Tying exercises have therefore been set on Wednesday, Wed-nesday, September 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Stake House and the public is invited to attend. A special in-vitaion in-vitaion is also issued to MIA stake officers, bishoprics, ward ofifcers and teachers and others interested. To prepare for the special ceremony, cere-mony, a practice for all girls participating par-ticipating will be held on Satur-day, Satur-day, i August 30, at 3 p.m. at the Stake House. 1 The program scheduled for the evening will begin with prelude music by Jane Harrison, who will also give postlude numbers. Mary Ann Duke will give the welcoming ; address ; Jeanine Watts, the opening open-ing prayer. The theme of the program will be "Make Your Life a Song," with Charmian Long to be the reader. There will be a duet by Anna Wiscombe and Jeanean Girot entitled en-titled "A Pretty Girl Is Like a Melody"; response, "Melody," by Nedra Whitney; violin duet,-Ann Johnson, Betty Hoover, "Mighty Like a Rose"; response: "Harmony," "Har-mony," Marilyn Roylance; accord-ian accord-ian solo, Esther Rae Young, "Mexican "Mex-ican Rose," response: "Tempo" by JoAnn Castle ton; piano solo, Lela Ann McKenzie, "Basket of Roses," response: "Tone" by Geniel Ash-craft; Ash-craft; song, MiaMaid Chorus, "Live Life in a Sweet Key"; reading, Marilyn Moon, "Symbolism of the Rose." The rose tying ceremony will follow the program. Delora Lou Mann will give the closing prayer. In charge of arrangements for the program are Mrs. Merell C. Young, stake MiaMaid supervisor and Norma Weight, MiaMaid chorus director. |
