Show Polio Chairman Reports Success In Campaign Plans Chairman Lamar Miner of the Springville Polio fund drive reported report-ed this week that contributions are coming in in gratifying manner with organizations, clubs and individuals indi-viduals lending their support. The 20-30 club sponsored a successful suc-cessful project Saturday stretching a tape along main street and on which dimes were placed. A total of $170 were collected. The clubmen took turn about standing on Main street and ringing little bells to attract the attention of the public to the collection center. It was a fun-project for the men and a successful suc-cessful one for- polio. Mr. Miner reported also that the women's clubs are sponsoring cake sales or contributing the equivalent of a cake, $1, to the drive. The Mothers' March on Polio is planned for January 29. The Jaycees Wives sponsored a public card party Wednesday evening eve-ning collecting additional funds. A dance revue and other, entertainment entertain-ment programs and events are also being planned to help swell the campaign funds in Springville during dur-ing the next week or so. |
