Show Graduates . . . . -. i -i LJj . . Capt. Paul F. Eggertsen Springville Man Graduates As Air Corps Examiner Randolph Field, Tex: Captl Paul F. Eggertsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Eggertsen, of 133 South Second Street West, Springville, was a member of the Aviation Medical Examiner class that graduated grad-uated at the Air Force School of Aviation Medicine, Randolph AFB, January 27. The class of more than 50 consisted of regular Air Force, National Guard, reserve and two foreign medical officers. By completing the six-weeks specialized course the graduates qualified for duty with Air Force units, where their primary mission will be to conduct physical examinations examin-ations for flying. Due to the recent re-cent shortening of this course from 11 to six weeks however, the officers will not obtain their Aviation Avia-tion Medical Examiner ratings until un-til successfully completing a three-months three-months supervised preceptorship in the field. During this period, which was set up to minimize the curtailment cur-tailment of formal instruction, each must log 25 hours flying time in military aircraft and conduct con-duct 50 physical examinations for flying. It is the only machine of its kind being used in Utah to date, although al-though there are a number in California. Cali-fornia. Only about 400 have been placed throughout the United States. In making announcement of the use of this new machine, the Springville Herald invites its readers read-ers to submit pictures of important import-ant events and happenings, which will be recorded in the newspaper each week. Installation of the new mechanical device was made with the thought of improving the local newspaper and offering something better, something newer and something some-thing which will add to the service offered by the Springville Herald to its readers. A majority of the pictures used in the Herald today were made by the new Photo Electric device. Many more pictures can be used and townspeople are urged to submit sub-mit any which are of general interest. |
