Show MapletonM. I. A. Features Pretty "Cupid Caper" Ball The Mapleton ward . M. I. A. Gold and Green ball last Thursday Thurs-day evening was one of the prettiest prett-iest social events of the season featuring the theme, "Cupid's Capers", with decorations in red and white with silver hearts. Miss Edna Pate, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pate, was crowned queen by Bishop Oscar Whiting. The queen's attendants were, Miss LaPreal Roundy and Miss Beth Perry. The floor show, under direction of dance instructors Welburn and Marilyn Johnson, included : , presentation pres-entation waltz, Guardian girls; Red and White Waltz, Juniors and Explorers; Cupids Capers, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Poulsen and Kay and Myrna Harmer; Pretty Girl Waltz, Junior and Gleaner Girls. Don Knight and Helen Wis-combe Wis-combe were in charge of general arrangements with Joyce Whiting dance manager. Refreshments were served by the Gleaner Girls with Pearl Hol-ley, Hol-ley, Senate Mendenhall, Barbara Murray and Doris Halvorsen acting act-ing as hostesses. Executive officers were in charge of decorating assisted by Valene Thorn, Bonnie Gividen, Verl Davies, Paul Diamond, Don Whiting, Vaughn Berhman and Niel Allan. |
