Boyer 57th Wedding Anniversary Observed By Mr. and Mrs. Myron Boyer, Mar. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Myron Boyer, one of trie longer married couples in Springville, celebrated their fifty-seventh, wedding anniversary on VVednesday, March 1. Due to Mrs. Boyer's health, no special entertainment was planned, but friends and relatives called to extend felicitations. Born in Springville December 27, 1868, Mr. Boyer attended schools here and later went to the B. Y. College and the Utah Slate Agricultural College. With his brothers, Ernest, Lee and Wayne Boyer, he engaged in early railroad contracting. Later with four other citizens, Mr. Boyer organized the Springville Canning Company and he served as superintendent of the company for some time. Later he operated a farm for a number of years. Mr. Boyer has always been active in church work serving in the M. I. A. and Sunday School organizations and as a ward teacher. He was also clerk of the First ward for approximately 25 years. . Mrs. Eliza Clegg Boyer was born December 26, 1869 in Springville Spring-ville and has also lived here practically her entire life. Her parents were Wm. and Sarah Oats Clegg. Mrs. Boyer took an active part in early-day dramatics and musical entertainment, participating in many programs throughout the county. She has been active in church work especially in Relief Re-lief Society and is a member of Camp Kolob DUP. Mr. and Mrs. Boyer are parents of six sons and daughters with four living. They are Oscar Boyer, Harlan Boyer, Mrs. Thelma Carter all of Springville; Glen S. Boyer, Salt Lake City. There are also 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. |
