'"'1 i '$ Mariam Furr i .a ; I $ - - 1 I' Marilyn Ames I c i First Entrants in Springville Jaycees i Annual Miss Utah Contest Listed J The Springville Jaycees are again sponsoring a contest to select a Miss Utah, it was annouced this week by Paul Ence, chairman of the project. Fifteen girls have already signified their intentions of entering the contest providing a sponsor can be secured for them. Three girls, Mavis Thorn daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rowe Thorn, Marilyn Ames, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Ames and Marian Mar-ian Furr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil R. Furr become the first to enter the contest with a sponsor. The girls names and pictures will be published each week as the contest con-test progresses. The judging of the contestants which will be made on beauty, personality per-sonality and talent will be made at a formal program scheduled in the high school auditorium on Friday, June 22, Mr. Ence said. At this time, the contestants will present the program and will be judged by out-of-town personnel. The contestants must be under 21 and out of high school, single and not planning to be married before be-fore the close of next year should they get to be Miss Utah. The winner of the Springville contest will judge in county wide competition and the county winner will go to the state to try out for Miss Utah at the state fair. Those desirous of entering the contest and prospective sponsors are asked to contact Edgel Old-royd. |
