Show o w - ' "! REMEMBER": BV THE OLD TIMERS - - -1 From E. L. Evans of Farmington, Me.: I remember when our mothers moth-ers worked far into the night, spinning spin-ning yarn and knitting mittens and stockings for the whole family and leggings that came above the kne (fastened with loops to buttoni) for the men-folk. They also mad yarn toys for the little tots. From Mrs. Edna Keane of Cincinnati, Cincin-nati, O: I remember when Mother churned the old-fashioned way and I helped her and we had the old- fashioned coffee grinder. She'd make me sit down and put the grinder in my lap and I would grind the coffee. It was Arbuckle's coffee, as I recall. We'd save the wrappers and get beautiful pictures pic-tures for them. From Mrs. Mary Stewart of Chicago: Chi-cago: Here are some more old-time old-time song-titles I remember: "In the Baggage Car Ahead," "Just as the Sun Went Down," "Where Is My Wandering Boy Tonight?", "Tell Mother I'll Be There," "Hello Central, Give Me Heaven," "When the Lusitania Went Down" and "I'm a Morris Chair You'd Be Surprised!" |
