Show Parents, Boys Draft Age Invited To Guard 'Open House' The Springville National Guard unit, in an effort to bring before the public and especially to boys of draft age, the advantages offered by enlistment in the National Guard, are holding open house this evening at 7:30 p. m., at Memorial hall, and inviting all to attend. During the time questions regarding re-garding enrollment, the type of training, and any others pertaining to National Guard training, will be answered by the officers in attendance. at-tendance. Robert R. Bringhurst, WOJG administrative assistant, said Wednesday that no definite date had been set for the guard for active service, but five months of training would . be given the unit after word is received, making it some time before the unit would be in active service. A 28 weeks training period is also given the men after the five months period expires. The local guard unit has a total enlistment of -54 men and two officers, of-ficers, and the quota is 86 men and six officers. In the past few days three men have enlisted, including: Dwain Roylance, Glen Alleman and Reece Bale. |
