Show BOY SCOUT COURT OF HONOR AND BANQUETSLATED At the regular monthly meeting meet-ing of the Bingham district Boy Scout council Monday evening, announcement was made that reservation for six troops of Bingham Boy Scouts had been made at Camp Steiner the week of August 3-11, which is the second sec-ond week of camp. Another important date on the I Boy Scout calendar, the annual Fathers and Sons banquet, has been set at the Bingham high school cafeteria at Copperton during the latter part of April. The annual Court of Honor will be held at 'the banquet under direction di-rection of Dr. Paul S. Richards. Besides Dr. Richards, on the committee arranging the banquet and court are L. E. Snow and Runar Martinson. An envelope with a New Zealand Zeal-and stamp and postmarked "Pit-cairn "Pit-cairn Island, New Zealand", bearing an ink drawing of the island and of the U.S.S. North Star, one of the Byrd Antarctic expedition ships, with an inscription inscrip-tion and the autograph of Dr. Russell G. Frazier. will he award- ed a Boy Scout at the Camp Steiner Stein-er Court of Honor. The Scout who will receive the cachet is to be the "member of the honor troop making the greatest advancement in scouting scout-ing during the year," as requested request-ed by Dr. Frazier, physician with the Byrd expedition. Scouts competing for the cachet, cach-et, of value as a souvenir of the Byrd expedition, because of the interesting New Zealand stamp and Dr. Frazier's autograph, will wish to study the following table ta-ble to be used in rating troops before selection is made of Scout making most progress in the honor troop. Joseph Kemp, council coun-cil secretary, released this table: Second class Scout .... 10 points First class Scout 15 points Star Scout 20 points Life Scout 25 points Eagle Scout 50 points Merit badges 5 points Rating will be found by adding add-ing number of points in each troop and dividing by number of Scouts in the troop. |
