Show Devils Face Provo Here Friday, Sp. Fork at Spanish Tuesday a . Teams in the Nebo basketball loop will play two games within the coming week, the first being Friday and the other Tuesday night. Springville will enter- tain the league leading Provo team here Friday night and will meet Spanish Fork on the Don floor next Tuesday night. These two games will be crucial tests for the Red Devils and should Coach Garrett's team come up with two wins, it would practically assure as-sure them of a tournament spot. Provo drubbed the Devils in their first game of the season on the Provo floor and unless the Devils make up their mind that the Bulldogs Bull-dogs can be whipped, will probably prob-ably lose Friday. Another question mark for Springville is big George Black who may not be able to play again Friday. Black has been on the sidelines for the past two games because of a bad ankle injury. in-jury. The usual thrilling contest at " Spanish Fork Tuesday is anticipated anticipat-ed when the two teams line up. Canto, Gary Crandall and Calvin Thorpe. Gary Crandall, while playing one of his better games, exhibited some fine shooting ability as he hit from far out to thrill the crowd with his ringers. Thorpe, Canto and Fullmer also swished in some beauties. Lincoln's Finch, Harmon and Moon counted highest for the losers. The junior varsity game was a thriller even though the Red Devils lead most of the way until a final drive by the Tigers tied up the ball game at 37 all. A split second shot by Lincoln went through and the Tigers went to the dressing rooms thinking they had the game in the bag. By the time the timers reported re-ported the shot was too late, the players were dressing and so the game stood as a tie. Spanish is still in the running and must have a Springville win to maintain that position. Springville is in a similar spot and particularly particular-ly if they lose to Provo, will they need the win. Both games will be preceded by the junior varsity game at 6:30.
